India, July 8 -- A tragic incident in Madhya Pradesh's Mandla district has raised concerns over emergency healthcare access after a woman delivered four premature babies inside an auto-rickshaw while being taken to hospital. All four newborns died shortly after birth, while the mother survived and is undergoing treatment.
The woman, identified as Rajni Singram from Naigaon village, went into labour during the seventh month of her pregnancy. Her family claimed they contacted the emergency ambulance service, but when help did not arrive on time, they were forced to arrange an auto-rickshaw to take her to a health facility.
