MK Stalin Resigns as Tamil Nadu CM After 2026 Election Results
India, May 5 -- In a major political development following the Assembly Election Results 2026, M. K. Stalin has stepped down as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu after his party's electoral setback.
Sources confirmed that Stalin submitted his resignation to Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar at Lok Bhavan. As per constitutional convention, the Governor is expected to request him to continue as interim Chief Minister until a new government is formed.
The resignation comes amid sweeping political changes across several states following the 2026 Assembly elections.
