New Delhi, Aug. 9 -- Amid growing public concerns over reduced fuel mileage, Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Friday firmly defended the Government's ethanol-blending initiative, calling it a major success that benefits both the economy and the environment.
Speaking at the Biofuel Summit organised by The Pioneer in Delhi on Friday (August 8), Puri addressed the apprehensions surrounding E20 fuel - a blend of 80 per cent petrol and 20 per cent ethanol - and dismissed fears that it harms vehicle engines, stating that it only results in a "marginal" performance drop of 1-3 per cent and causes no mechanical failures.
