India, April 17 -- The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will hold elections for the posts of mayor, deputy mayor and three members of its standing committee on April 29, according to an official notice issued by the civic body on Thursday.
The notice issued by the Municipal Secretary stated that the election will be conducted during the ordinary April meeting of the civic body at 2 pm on April 29 at the civic centre in accordance with the provisions of the Delhi Municipal Corporation Act, 1957, and related regulations.
Nominations for the posts with a deadline of April 23 at 5 pm must be filed in the prescribed form, signed by the candidate and two corporation members acting as proposer and seconder.
