India, Oct. 25 -- Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has allocated an amount of Rs 40,000 per ward for augmenting street lighting at Chhath puja ghats. The amount will be utilised for strengthening street lighting in and around Chhath ghats.
According to Standing Committee Chairperson Satya Sharma, a total of 841 Chhath ghats across 250 wards have been identified by the Electrical Divisions for this purpose. The electrical department will deploy its employees to complete the lighting work at the earliest as proper lighting will add colours to the celebration and will ensure safety and security of large number of women and children who will come to the ghats to perform puja.
