India, Sept. 19 -- Dr Sekar Viswanathan, vice-president of VIT, received the prestigious Crown Jewel of World Tamils award ('Ulaga Thamizhar Maamani') in recognition of his exemplary contributions to higher education at the World Tamil Economic Conference held in Mauritius.

The 13th edition of the Global Tamils Economic Conference and Global Economic Summit took place in Mauritius from September 11 to 13.
