India, June 30 -- More than 20 people sustained burn injuries after a massive fire broke out in a naphtha-carrying pipeline at the Haldia Petrochemicals plant in West Bengal's Purba Medinipur district. The blaze triggered panic across the industrial complex, sending thick plumes of black smoke into the sky.
The fire erupted in a pipeline transporting naphtha, a highly flammable petroleum product, within the Haldia Petrochemicals facility. Emergency response teams and multiple fire engines rushed to the site and launched firefighting and rescue operations. Authorities later brought the blaze under control, though cooling operations continued for several hours.
