India, May 30 -- The Manipur Government on Friday decided to reduce the size of VIP convoys following a security review, introduce 'work from home' arrangements, freeze Government-funded foreign travel and take steps to curb non-essential expenditure, an official statement said.

The decisions were taken during a cabinet meeting held at the chief minister's secretariat at Mantripukhri in Imphal East, it said. Various issues related to different departments were also discussed in the meeting. The cabinet said the measures were taken in line with an appeal by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in view of prevailing global challenges.
