Burdwan, Aug. 27 -- West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, criticising his remarks that her government is run by thieves. The CM said, "I respect the Chair of the Prime Minister and never use unparliamentary languages against him and similarly I too expect from him to return that courtesy. He has no right to call Bengal a region run by the thieves."

Banerjee was addressing an audience in the sidelines of an administrative meeting in Burdwan district. "What right has he got to talk like that and it is not my Government but all his double engine Governments in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Bihar are run by the thieves," the Chief Minister thundered.
