India, Aug. 26 -- The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Tuesday commenced construction work at Shivaji Stadium Metro Station to extend the existing Magenta Line from Janakpuri West to RK Ashram Marg, a Central Vista corridor project. Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu laid the foundation for the construction of the D-Wall at the station.

"A critical 29-metre-deep engineering feat, the station will feature direct subway integration with the Airport Express Line and Rajiv Chowk, seamlessly connecting key institutions while helping decongest central transit nodes," Sandhu said on X. He termed the project a major stride towards building modern seamless connectivity for a 'Viksit Delhi'.
