India, Oct. 15 -- In its biggest ever investment in India, tech giant Google will invest $15 billion in building an AI data hub in the port city of Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The tech giant has partnered with the Adani Group and Airtel to build the infrastructure for the project. This initiative is said to boost India's capacity to support next-generation AI applications, cloud computing and data-intensive services.

The huge investment comes amid soured ties between India and the United States (US) over the tariff war, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi having called for people to prioritise local, or swadeshi, products.
