India, Aug. 6 -- Midfielder Khaidem Shileima Chanu will captain India's 18-member junior women's hockey team at the Junior Asia Cup in Moqi, China, from Aug. 30 to Sept. 13, Hockey India announced on Thursday, Aug 6th.

The squad heads into the continental tournament after completing an exposure tour of the United Kingdom as part of its preparations. The tournament schedule and pool allocations will be announced closer to the event.

Head coach Tim White praised the squad's commitment and progress since he took charge earlier this year, saying the players had earned their places through hard work and consistent improvement.
