India, July 10 -- Shiv Sena corporator Ramesh Mhatre, arrested for allegedly assaulting doctors and medical staff at a Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC)-run hospital, was on Friday produced before the Kalyan Sessions Court, which remanded him and three co-accused to police custody till July 14.

Mhatre was arrested after a video showing him allegedly slapping and punching doctors at Shastri Nagar Hospital in Dombivli went viral, triggering widespread outrage among the medical fraternity and prompting protests across Maharashtra.
