India, May 24 -- The Karnataka Government has increased the minimum wages by 60 per cent, which will ensure labourers in Bengaluru get a minimum of Rs 23,376 per month, according to a State Government notification.

The notification said that the skilled workers would be entitled to Rs 31,114 per month in the State Capital.

Sharing the information, Labour Minister Santosh Lad on Saturday described the move as the fulfilment of a long-pending demand of the labour community across Karnataka.

The revised rates in other parts of Karnataka would be between Rs 19,300 and Rs 21,251 per month.
