India, Aug. 17 -- The killing of three people in an alleged exchange of fire with Forest Department personnel on August 15 in Chamarajanagar led to uproar in the Karnataka Legislative Council on Monday followed by adjournment.

The opposition BJP termed the killing of three suspected poachers as a murder committed by the government.

Seeking an immediate discussion and a reply from the state Forest Minister Ramalinga Reddy, Leader of the Opposition Chalavadi Narayanaswamy demanded justice for the families of the victims.

"Three precious lives were snatched. It is a murder committed by the government only. Those killed were minorities. Justice should be done to the families," he said.
