Kanwariya swept away in Odisha's Angul, 8 hurt in separate mishap
India, Aug. 10 -- A kanwariya was swept away while collecting water from a stream in Odisha's Angul district, and eight others were injured after a mini-truck carrying them overturned in a separate incident in Ganjam district, police said on Monday, August 10.
A group of kanwariyas had gone to a stream near Dipirisingha in Angul district on Sunday, August 9, night to collect water to offer to Lord Shiva during the holy month of Shravan, when two of them were swept away by a strong current, fire service officials said.
