India, March 12 -- JD(U) leader and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's son Nishant Kumar on Wednesday described the party as a family and said its members would collectively strive to serve the people.

The engineering graduate, in his late 40s, joined the party on Sunday in the presence of top leaders, including Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh 'Lalan' and JD(U) national working president Sanjay Jha. Talking to reporters here, Nishant Kumar said, "I wish to take along the party as a family unit. The legislators and workers associated with JD(U) are all members of one family."
