India, July 11 -- Jammu and Kashmir Police intensified their anti-narcotics drive today by detaining an alleged notorious drug peddler under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT-NDPS) Act and arresting four more persons in separate operations across Samba, Kathua and Rajouri districts.

According to police, Sanjay Kumar alias "Sanju", a resident of Phalata village in Udhampur district, was detained under the PIT-NDPS Act following a detention order issued by the competent authority. He has been lodged in District Jail Bhaderwah in Doda. Police described him as a "notorious peddler" involved in drug-related activities.
