India, April 14 -- Iran's Ambassador to India Mohammad Fathali has said that the Strait of Hormuz will remain open for Indian ships, even as Tehran warned of economic consequences from a possible US Navy blockade in the Persian Gulf. Iran also indicated the possibility of renewed hostilities if Washington does not withdraw what Fathali described as "unlawful demands."
Addressing a press briefing on Monday in the national Capital, Fathali emphasised that Tehran is making special arrangements to facilitate Indian vessels navigating the region. He highlighted the strong and longstanding relationship between Iran and India, noting recent discussions between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and our President Masoud Pezeshkian.
