India, April 19 -- Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday protested the non-passage of the Mahila Shakti Amendment Bill in Parliament by wearing a black armband at a summit here. Terming it a "painful" development, she slammed the Opposition parties for blocking the passage of the 131st Constitutional Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha on Friday.
Registering a sharp protest, she wore a black band at a summit organised by the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), targeting what she termed the Opposition's anti-women politics. The event witnessed intense sloganeering, led by the Chief Minister, in support of women's rights.
