Indian hotel employee in US sentenced for sex trafficking case involving minor
India, May 30 -- A 27-year-old Indian national has been sentenced to 10 years in prison in the United States after being convicted in a sex trafficking-related case involving a minor at a hotel in Nebraska.
The accused, identified as Kavankumar Patel from Gujarat, was working at the AmericInn hotel in Omaha when the incident occurred. According to US authorities, he was part of a wider trafficking network that exploited underage girls for commercial sex.
Investigators said the case came to light after police responded to an unrelated theft report in January 2025, which eventually uncovered evidence of a trafficking operation involving minors aged 15 and 16.
