India, Oct. 3 -- It is a run feast at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Duo Ravindra Jadeja and Dhruv Jurel's record-breaking partnership powered India to a commanding 448/5 at stumps on Day 2 of the first Test against the West Indies in Ahmedabad. With a lead of 286 runs, India are firmly in control, with Jadeja unbeaten on 104 and Washington Sundar on 9 at the crease.

Resuming from an overnight score of 121/2, India lost captain Shubman Gill early in the morning session after he reached a solid 50. KL Rahul followed later in the second session, but not before entertaining the crowd with a fluent century. However, the highlight of the day belonged to the fifth-wicket stand between Jadeja and 24-year-old Dhruv Jurel.
