India, African Union Postpone New Delhi Summit Amid Ebola Outbreak
India, May 21 -- India and the African Union (AU) have jointly decided to postpone the Fourth India-Africa Forum Summit (IAFS-IV), which was scheduled to take place in New Delhi next week. The decision was taken due to the evolving Ebola situation in parts of Africa and concerns surrounding public health and international travel.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the postponement followed consultations between Indian authorities, the African Union leadership, and the African Union Commission. Officials described the move as a precautionary step while emphasising that India remains committed to its partnership with African nations and ongoing cooperation in health preparedness efforts.
