IGI Airport: Customs seizes nearly 9 kg of suspected hydroponic weed from Bangkok flyer
India, July 30 -- Customs officials at Indira Gandhi International Airport here have seized nearly 9 kg of suspected hydroponic weed from a passenger arriving from Bangkok and arrested him under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, officials said Thursday.
The passenger, who arrived from Bangkok on Wednesday, 29 July was intercepted after crossing the Customs Green Channel based on Advance Passenger Information System (APIS) profiling, an official statement said.
During X-ray screening of his baggage, officials noticed suspicious images, the statement said.
A subsequent search led to the recovery of five vacuum-sealed packets containing a green-coloured substance suspected to be hydroponic weed, or ganja, weighing 8,961 ...
