India, June 22 -- The International Cricket Council (ICC) has introduced a new "Return to Play Post-Pregnancy Guidelines" framework aimed at supporting female cricketers as they resume professional cricket after childbirth.

The initiative is designed to ensure a safe, structured, and scientifically guided return to competitive sport, taking into account the physical, medical, and psychological needs of athletes during post-pregnancy recovery.

According to the ICC, the guidelines will serve as a comprehensive reference for players, national cricket boards, medical teams, coaches, and support staff to help manage training loads, fitness progression, and overall wellbeing during the comeback phase.
