India, July 19 -- Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday reviewed the flood situation in Jammu and Kashmir and held separate discussions with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to assess the impact of the heavy rains and ongoing rescue operations. He assured the Union Territory of all possible assistance from the Centre.

Shah said he had spoken with both leaders to take stock of the damage caused by flash floods and landslides triggered by incessant rainfall in several parts of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly the Rajouri and Poonch districts. He emphasised that the Centre was closely monitoring the situation and coordinating relief and rescue measures.
