India, July 12 -- Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday launched 'Mission 5 Million Trees' in Ahmedabad, an ambitious campaign aimed at planting 50 lakh trees across the city. The initiative seeks to expand Ahmedabad's green cover and encourage greater public participation in environmental conservation. During the event, Shah also inaugurated several civic development projects and participated in a mass plantation drive at Science City.

Under the campaign, tree plantations will be carried out along major roads, public parks, dividers and other open spaces throughout Ahmedabad.
