Harmanpreet Kaur retained as India Captain for Asian Games despite T20 World Cup exit
India, June 30 -- The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has retained Harmanpreet Kaur as captain of the Indian women's cricket team for the 2026 Asian Games in Japan, despite the team's disappointing group-stage exit from the ICC Women's T20 World Cup in England.
The Asian Games will be held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, from September 19 to October 4, with India entering the tournament as the defending gold medallists after their triumph at the 2023 Hangzhou Games.
