India, April 28 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party has registered a sweeping victory in the Gujarat local body elections 2026, winning all 15 municipal corporations across the state, according to latest trends and declared results.
Counting of votes began Tuesday morning after polling was held on Sunday for 15 municipal corporations, 84 municipalities, 34 district panchayats, and 260 taluka panchayats.
The BJP dominated urban bodies, crossing the 50% mark in each municipal corporation, including key cities like Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat, and Vadodara.
