Gujarat destroys seized drugs worth estimated Rs 2,212 crore in Bharuch
India, July 21 -- Narcotics with an estimated value of Rs 2,212 crore, including around 11.10 lakh bottles of various substances and 14,500 kg of drugs, seized from various parts of Gujarat over the past year, were on Monday destroyed at an incinerator in Bharuch district, officials said.
These substances were seized by local police, CID and ATS, and 877 cases were registered. The drugs were scientifically disposed of at the BEIL incinerator in the Dahej industrial area as per environmental norms in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, according to an official release.
