India, Oct. 23 -- After a gap of several years, the Rekha Gupta Government has started upgrading 17 large model Chhath ghats along the banks of the river Yamuna for the upcoming Chhath Puja. According to Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, from Palla to Kalindi Kunj, 17 major ghats are being developed along the Yamuna, each ranging from half a kilometer to one and a half kilometers in length, depending on the local population. Every district and subdivision will also have at least one model ghat to make it easier for devotees to perform the rituals.
