India, May 9 -- Lieutenant General Girish Kalia, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Spear Corps, visited forward areas and key military garrisons across Manipur on Thursday to assess the prevailing security situation, operational preparedness, and capability enhancement initiatives being undertaken by troops deployed in the State.

During the visit, Lt Gen Kalia conducted an aerial reconnaissance of areas affected by the recent Tangkhul-Kuki clashes to review the evolving security dynamics in the region.

He later visited forward Army locations at Kangvai, Sendra, Litan and YKPI, where he interacted with commanders and personnel stationed on the ground.
