Goa CM Sawant meets Shah in Delhi to discuss ST seats
India, June 8 -- Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Sunday met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on the issue of reserving seats for Scheduled Tribes in the State Assembly.
Sawant was accompanied by Union Minister Shripad Naik, Assembly Speaker Ganesh Gaonkar, State Art and Culture Minister Ramesh Tawadkar, Goa BJP president Damodar Naik and MLA Govind Gaude.
"Called on Hon'ble Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah Ji in New Delhi today to discuss the implementation of ST Reservation in the Goa Legislative Assembly," Sawant said in a post on X, adding he was grateful for Shah's "positive assurance and full cooperation in ensuring implementation of this important matter".
