India, Sept. 20 -- It is a new and potent phenomenon. Today's youth, known as Gen Z, take to the streets, protest against governments, sometimes resort to violence and arson, and suddenly regimes crumble - only to be followed by confusion and instability. In the Indian subcontinent, this pattern has become alarmingly frequent: governments topple, and chaos ensues. From the streets of Colombo in 2022 to Dhaka in 2024 and now Kathmandu in 2025, South Asia has witnessed an extraordinary wave of youth-led uprisings that have toppled seemingly invincible governments.
