India, June 12 -- Fresh legal trouble has emerged for former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee after an FIR was registered against her over an alleged inflammatory speech delivered during a public protest in Kolkata.

According to reports, a Kolkata resident filed a complaint accusing Banerjee of making remarks that allegedly had the potential to incite communal tensions and disturb public harmony. Acting on the complaint, police registered a case and initiated a preliminary investigation into the matter.
