Ex-IB officer takes charge of Delhi Police
India, July 18 -- In a notable administrative reshuffle, the Union Government has appointed Anurag Kumar, a 1994-batch IPS officer and former Special Director of the Intelligence Bureau (IB), as the new Commissioner of Delhi Police. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved Kumar's repatriation from the IB.
An official order issued on Friday stated, "With the approval of the Competent Authority, Anurag Kumar, IPS (AGMUT:1994), is hereby appointed as Commissioner of Police, Delhi, with effect from the date of assumption of charge and until further orders."
