Gonda (UP), Aug. 4 -- Eleven people, including three children, from Seha village lost their lives, and four others sustained injuries after an SUV carrying them plunged into a canal near Belwa Bahuta in the Ikaithok area on Sunday morning. The vehicle was en route to the Prithvi Nath temple in Ayodhya for Jalabishek when the accident occurred.
According to the police, the SUV carrying 15 pilgrims, including the driver, went out of control and veered into the canal. Eleven people died on the spot, while four others were rescued safely. Superintendent of Police Vineet Jaiswal said those killed in the accident included six women, two men and three children.
