Eight killed as charter plane crashes near remote radar site in Alaska
India, Aug. 21 -- A charter aircraft carrying eight people crashed at a remote radar site in western Alaska killing everyone on board, the US military said.
The crash occurred on Thursday at the Cape Newenham Long Range Radar Site Airport, about 450 miles (725 km) west of Anchorage, Alaska.
"This is a devastating loss for our military family and the communities we serve," said US Air Force Lt Gen Robert Davis, commander of Alaskan Command, the Alaskan North American Aerospace Defence Command Region and the Eleventh Air Force.
The military did not immediately provide further details about the circumstances of the crash or identify those killed.
