India, Oct. 15 -- The Election Commission of India (ECI) has fixed December 31 for completion of special intensive revision in Bengal, sources in the State election office say.

According to sources during a recent meeting with ECI officials held at Kolaghat in East Midnapore district senior ECI officers told the staff to complete all the paraphernalia by October 15 before beginning SIR in the State.

The meeting featuring election officials from three districts of Bankura, Jhargram and East Midnapore took place on Thursday. The State is likely to go to Assembly elections sometime in
