India, July 26 -- A 28-year-old man allegedly beat his father to death with sticks and grievously injured his mother following an argument at their home in Balrampur district, police said on Sunday, July 26.

According to police, the incident took place in Tulsipur town on Saturday, July 25, night, when the accused, Pintu, who is allegedly addicted to substances, got into an argument with his mother, Phoolwati (55), while under the influence.

Police said Pintu allegedly attacked his mother with sticks. When his father, Kallu (60), intervened to stop the assault, the accused allegedly turned on him and beat him with sticks.
