India, April 29 -- Amid ongoing polling in the second phase of the West Bengal Assembly Elections 2026, Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Derek O'Brien launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, challenging him to resign if the TMC secures victory in the state.
In a video message shared on social media, O'Brien claimed that PM Modi had projected himself as the face of the BJP's campaign across all 294 seats in West Bengal. "Drop the big talk. Accept this challenge. On May 4, when Mamata Banerjee and TMC win Bengal, resign from the Prime Minister's post. Got the guts?" he said.
