India, Feb. 7 -- The Delhi Government starting the process of drafting a bill for the creation of the Delhi Unified Metropolitan Transport Authority(DUMTA) along with a dedicated Delhi Urban Transport Fund (DUTF). Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday directed the task force headed by the chief secretary to draft a bill for a unified metropolitan transport authority for the Capital, the CMO said in a statement.
Once approved, bodies such as the Delhi Transport Corporation, Public Works Department, Transport Department, and Delhi Traffic Police will function under a single umbrella.
