DDA launches demolition drive in Delhi's Yamuna Bazar area
India, June 25 -- The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) carried out a major demolition drive in the Yamuna Bazar area of the national capital as part of its ongoing efforts to remove encroachments and reclaim public land.
Heavy machinery, along with police and civic officials, was deployed in the area to clear unauthorized structures built on government land. Security arrangements were tightened to maintain law and order during the operation.
Officials said the drive was undertaken following notices issued to occupants and in compliance with directions related to the removal of illegal constructions in ecologically sensitive and public-use zones along the Yamuna floodplain.
