India, May 24 -- Delhi Police arrested a 28-year-old man in Tughlakabad Extension late on the night of May 22-23, following an exchange of fire. He is accused of murdering his cousin and her 13-year-old son in Govindpuri, Southeast Delhi, on May 20, according to police officials.

The accused, identified as Saurabh Sahu of Sangam Vihar, allegedly fired at a police team near Ghati Wala Park in Tughlakabad Extension during the operation conducted on the night of May 22-23. Police reported that Sub-Inspector Yashpal narrowly escaped injury when a bullet struck his bulletproof jacket.

Sharda Sahu and her teenage son, Khushal, were found brutally murdered inside their residence late at night on 20 May.
