India, Oct. 7 -- Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav on Monday suspended two drug inspectors and a deputy director and transferred the State's drug controller after a cough syrup was linked to the Chhindwara tragedy.

Announcing the decision, officials said the Chief Minister vowed to take strict action against those found guilty and warned that no negligence would be tolerated in matters concerning human life.

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has also taken immediate action in response to alarming reports of children's deaths linked to contaminated cough syrup.
