India, May 21 -- The social media-driven satirical movement "Cockroach Janta Party" (CJP) faced a major development after its X account was withheld in India, only hours after the platform gained massive popularity and reportedly surpassed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Instagram followers.

Reports suggest that the account displayed a notice stating it had been withheld in India "in response to a legal demand."

The development comes amid the rapid rise of CJP, which has become a major Gen Z-driven online phenomenon in recent days.

The movement reportedly crossed nearly 13 million followers on Instagram and had also gathered more than 200,000 followers on X before access was restricted in India.
