India, Sept. 6 -- Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday reviewed the flood situation in Yamuna river and said the Government is alert and prepared to deal with any contingency. According to a statement from the Chief Minister's Office, Gupta said the water in Yamuna is "continuously receding" and the situation is likely to return to normal soon.
In an online review meeting with the Divisional Commissioner and all District Magistrates, she issued a series of instructions to ensure prompt and effective relief for affected residents. "The water in the Yamuna is continuously receding," the Chief Minister said, "and it is likely that the situation will soon return to normal. The people of Delhi need not panic."
