India, July 8 -- Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reacted strongly to allegations of irregularities in donations at Badrinath Temple, calling the alleged act a serious offence against religious sentiments.

He said any misuse of devotees' offerings at the revered shrine would be considered a grave wrongdoing, stressing that strict action would be taken against anyone found guilty.

The controversy emerged after allegations surfaced regarding the handling of donations at Badrinath Dham. The Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) has constituted a four-member inquiry panel to investigate the claims and examine available evidence, including CCTV footage and statements from concerned individuals.
