India, Sept. 28 -- CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke said on Monday that the outfit would hold a "Jail Bharo Andolan" in Mumbai on October 2 after the city police turned down its request to stage a protest at Shivaji Park on Gandhi Jayanti.

"Jail Bharo Andolan in Mumbai. October 2, Shivaji Park. #SaveDemocracy," Dipke wrote on X.

The proposed demonstration was aimed at Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, with the CJP seeking his resignation. The party is also seeking a freeze on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and amendments to the laws governing the Election Commission.
