India, Sept. 12 -- Telangana Police detained Cockroach Janta Party volunteers near Government Polytechnic, Ramanthapur, on September 11, the group's state coordinator Vijay Mallangi said.

Mallangi said the volunteers had gathered to support students protesting against Government Order 97. Police had not publicly responded to the detention claim.

In a post on X, Mallangi described the detention as unlawful and said the volunteers were standing peacefully near the college. The number and names of those allegedly detained were not immediately available.

There was also no information about where they were taken, how long they were held or whether they had been released. No case or grounds for the alleged detention were reported.
